I’m Daniel Jacobson, I’ve taught over 1000 students in my teaching career of over 30 years. I don’t say that to sound impressive, it’s not really that many, the average is only 33 per year! But I’ve learned something about teaching from each and every one of my students. The number could actually be much higher, but many of my students stayed for multiple years, and some are still with me after 7 and 8 years.
How do I keep students coming for that long? I understand what they want to learn, and balance that with pushing them to learn things they don’t want to learn YET! I challenge them just the right amount.

I ran a guitar-based school in Dublin, Ireland, called “Ultimate School of Music” for 10 years, with my wife Lisa. In 2024 we closed the school to relocate to the UK, and now I only teach via Zoom. Guitar Playing Motivation
The difference between guitar students who make a lot of progress and those who don’t is… motivation. I help students stay motivated by honing in on those areas that give the most fulfillment to each student – it’s different for different students. Some like to take exams, some don’t… some prefer to work towards taking part in a jam session. Whatever motivates you the most, we’ll find it and work towards it!

Most guitar students do not JUST want to learn to play songs… not all, but most want to MAKE THEIR OWN SONGS. I will show you how!
Technique Speciality
The guitar is an instrument with many different techniques associated with it… fingerstyle, picking, jazz, blues, funk, rock, folk… all have different techniques. I’ve studied so many of these different areas so I’ll be able to help you learn the ones relevant to you.
